Our History
Harlow's Truck and Bus Sales was established in 1973 with our first location in Rolette, ND.
Our founder, Harlow H. Hageness was born in 1942 and a native to North Dakota. He grew up and attended school in Rugby, ND. After high school, he attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton earning an associate's degree while playing football in college.
Harlow, being a true entrepreneur, let his passion for business lead him early on in his life. He owned and operated Harlow's Repair, the Rolette Theater, and a Mobile Service Station. As a certified diesel mechanic, Harlow saw a need and took the opportunity to run a local bus dealership called Lashman's Bus Service in Rolette, ND. Harlow's bought this small company and changed the name to "Harlow's School Bus Service" which today is know as Harlow's Truck and Bus Sales.
Through Harlow's dream and passion, our Mission Statement was born: "Our mission is to provide the best solution for your transportation investment with high quality products, exceptional customer service, and competitive pricing". With the determination of a classic entrepreneur, Harlow built his company from a small one shop facility to the multi-million dollar organization that we know today.
Harlow believed in serving his community by being more than just part of the growth. He became actively involved in leadership advisory boards and developing safe secure routing programs across the northwest United States.
Harlow passed on his aptitude for entrepreneurship to his three son's Jason, Jeremy, and Justin Hageness. All with 25 years dedicated to the family owned business, they work in tandem to continue the growth and community involvement that their father founded.
Along with standing on its Core Values (Safety, Leadership, Advocacy, Integrity and Compassion) Harlow's believes in providing customers the best service, while ensuring safety and efficient student transportation.
